Tampa Bay Couples Counseling

About This Site

Tampa Bay Couples Counseling is a marriage counseling practice serving the Tampa Bay area. We are not licensed mental health providers, and what we offer is not psychotherapy, a diagnosis, or medical care.

This page covers who runs the practice, how the site relates to it, what happens when you call, and how to reach us.

What this site is, and is not

This is the practice’s own website. It is not a directory and it is not a referral service, so there is no list of other people here and nobody is handed on to a third party.

We write the guides on this site ourselves. Nothing on it is psychotherapy, a diagnosis, or advice about your particular relationship, and reading a page here is not a substitute for talking to a doctor.

Being plain about that matters more here than anywhere else on the site. Florida licenses mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, and clinical social workers, and we are not among them. So we do not call what we do therapy or treatment, and we would rather you knew that before you called than after. If a page here ever reads as though we did, that is a mistake and we want to be told.

Why this site exists

Finding a couples counselor in Tampa Bay usually means days of practice websites that will not say what they charge, and directories that list hundreds of names with no idea who can see you this month. Many of the people searching are one partner, reading alone, unsure whether this is the right step.

So this site tries the opposite. It answers the questions people ask before they book, with sources, and where we cannot yet answer something about our own practice, the page says so in a box rather than filling the space with something plausible.

It is written for any couple: married or not, same-sex or not, and for couples whose faith matters to them as much as for couples who would rather it never came up.

How this site and the practice relate

They are the same business. This is the practice writing about its own service, which is worth saying plainly, because a site of this shape is often a directory being paid by the people on it.

Nobody pays to appear here, nothing on the site is paid placement, and no third party takes a share of a call. We are not affiliated with any insurer or directory.

We will update this section the day any of that changes.

Who runs this site

Awaiting sign-off: who is behind this site

The names or business behind the site will be published here before it launches.

What happens when you call

Every call button on the site uses the same phone number, and it is the only number on the site. It is a tracked line, which means the call is logged so we can see how many people the site reaches. What you say on the call is not what is being counted.

Awaiting sign-off: who answers the tracked line, and whether calls are recorded

This depends on the call-tracking provider, which has not been chosen. It will be stated here, and in the privacy policy, before the number goes live.

How we write and check what is here

This site quotes no price it did not set. It used to carry a range drawn from other Tampa Bay practices’ published fees; that was useful when the site was a guide to the market and misleading on a practice’s own website, so it came down. Our fee goes up when it is settled.

Claims about whether counseling works cite published, peer-reviewed research, and say where the evidence is thin. We do not publish reviews, ratings, testimonials, or stories about couples, and we never use a generated or stock photo of a person as a counselor or a client.

Every guide shows the date it was last updated. When a price moves or the research changes, the page changes with it, and so does the date.

If you find a mistake, tell us. We correct it and change the date on the page.

When couples counseling is the wrong step

If one partner is afraid of the other, couples counseling is not where to start, and this site says so on every service page. The safety page, linked at the foot of every page, lists who to call instead, including the National Domestic Violence Hotline and 988. That page carries no call button for this site, on purpose.

Contact us

For questions about the site or corrections to it. If you want to talk to someone about counseling, call the number on this page instead; that is faster and more private than a form.

How we handle what you send

Awaiting sign-off: the contact form

The form switches on once there is an inbox behind it. Until then, there is no way to write to us from this page.
